Child Abuse Prevention Coalition of Manatee County

The Child Abuse Prevention Coalition (CAPCO) of Manatee is dedicated to creating Public Awareness and providing Prevention programs, Community Resources and Advocacy Activities to educate and empower our community to recognize, resist and report child abuse, neglect, abandonment and exploitation in order to break the cycle of abuse.

Manatee Children’s Services

Manatee Children’s Services (MCS) is dedicated to breaking the cycle of child abuse. Its mission is to advocate for and provide the resources, skills, and shelter to alleviate abuse through prevention and intervention for all children and their families. They operate the only emergency shelter in Manatee County for children who are removed from their home due to abuse, abandonment and/or neglect.

American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Each year we raise money and participate in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. This walk is the American Cancer Society's premier event to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. But it’s more than just the name of a walk – it describes the amazing progress we’re making together to defeat this disease.

Safe Children Coalition of the Sarasota Family YMCA

The Safe Children Coalition is a community coalition blending available resources to assist abused and neglected children and their families in reaching permanency in a safe and stable environment.

Under the leadership of the Sarasota Family YMCA, the Safe Children Coalition (SCC) is a collaboration between the YMCA and many local community entities who together provide a continuum of child welfare services for dependent children who have been abused, neglected or abandoned. Child protection services provided include case management, foster care, independent living and adoptions.

The Food Bank of Manatee

The Food Bank of Manatee works to ensure that no child, family or senior in need goes hungry. In 2008, The Food Bank distributed enough food for over 1.5 million meals. They fight hunger with more than 100 partner agencies, including independent food pantries, soup kitchens, and other non-profit organizations.

Each year, the Bradentucky Bombers show their support by attending their "Empty Bowls" benefit luncheon.

Community Coalition on Homelessness

The Community Coalition on Homelessness (CCH) was organized to provide information and referral, day resource services and rental assistance, the agency also provides leadership and advocacy for issues related to homelessness. They have programs that provide a variety of services to individuals and families that are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless.
